Characterization of water catchments in Puyo, Pastaza
Keywords:
coverage, infiltration, organic matter, roots, hydric rechargeAbstract
This work was developed in the province of Pastaza, its objective: To determine the incidence of land use in the hydrodaphological characteristics in the Apangora and Kotococha, Huagrayacu and San Jacinto catchments. The recharge area was determined, points were established for soil sampling and infiltration tests, the contents of organic matter, carbon, moisture, apparent density and roots were determined in the soil. Statistical differences were reported for land use with respect to most parameters, where the mosaic reported higher carbon concentration and higher infiltration speed, there were also correlations between the characteristics of the recharge zone and the flow. It is concluded that the type of land use influences the infiltration rate and the moisture content.
