Study of the Martín Pérez River Basi
Keywords:
hydrological modeling, hyetographs, runoff hydrographsAbstract
The issue of urban flooding caused by river overflows is broad and complex. This research addresses the hydrological modeling of the Martín Pérez River. Rainfall data necessary for modeling with CHAC and HEC-HMS were obtained using the SGIA platform. The normalized regional mass curve (Perdigón et al., 2019) was used to obtain hyetographs from daily precipitation data. The CHAC and HEC-HMS models were used to simulate the hydrological response of the basin. It was found that HEC-HMS software is more suitable for this type of study, as it provides the runoff hydrograph and flood volume in addition to peak flow, and allows for the preparation of input data for hydraulic models such as HEC-RAS.
