La sustentabilidad hídrica mediante almacenamiento comunitario en zonas marginadas de la mixteca alta de Oaxaca, México
Abstract
La Mixteca Oaxaca es de alta marginación, con suelos escasosy déficit hídrico temporal. La variabilidad climática con
precipitaciones altas en tiempos cortos, impide aprovechar
y almacenar agua para épocas secas. El CIIDIR Oaxaca buscó
alternativa para acceso seguro al agua, barata respecto
a sistemas tradicionales, para Mixteca Alta Oaxaca. Las condiciones
hidrológicas son "normales", sin periodos de sequía,
pero el riesgo de desertificación está latente según
coeficiente de sequedad. Hay afloramientos calizos que escurren
20% de la precipitación total. Se diseñó y construyó
un almacenamiento cilíndrico de ferrocemento (capacidad
123 m3) con cubierta de cúpula. El esqueleto es recubierto
con mortero aportándole alta resistencia. Los costos bajan
40% respecto a los de mampostería. La comunidad participa,
se transfiere tecnología por capacitación y se espera
reducir el índice de enfermedades por contaminación hídrica.
