Design of a pilot plant for the study of artificial wetlands
Keywords:
Pilot plant, artificial wetland, treatment, wastewater, sludgeAbstract
The aim of this work is to propose the design of a pilot plant for artificial wetlands, as a viable alternative for the treatment of domestic wastewater, using artificial wetlands with vertical unsaturated-saturated subsurface flow, and sludge from septic tanks, using artificial wetlands for the treatment of sludge. The pilot plant is located in an area within the María del Carmen wastewater treatment plant and its useful life is approximately five years. Its dimensioning is carried out, and an experiment is designed considering relevant variables for the study of the behavior of artificial wetlands in tropical climates.
