Caracterización preliminar de calidad de aguas en subcuenca media del río Puyo
Abstract
En la presente investigación se monitorearon 15 puntos del río Puyo, seis en la zona urbana y nueve en la zona rural, así como siete afluentes con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de parámetros físico-químicos y microbiológicos, en la subcuenca media del río Puyo en la sección comprendida entre los sectores Fátima y Unión Base. Se evaluaron las características físico-químicas y microbiológicas, los valores de oxígeno disuelto, pH, temperatura, tensoactivos, coliformes fecales, nitratos, nitritos, sulfatos, DBO5, cloro residual y organofosforados. Se analizó la relación existente entre los parámetros estudiados a través del coeficiente de correlación R2 de Pearson. Los resultados mostraron valores de pH y coliformes fecales sobrepasando los límites permisibles establecidos en la legislación ecuatoriana, con mayor concentración de contaminantes en zonas urbanas.
