Balance hídrico de la cuenca Pijijiapan en Chiapas, México
Abstract
Con el objetivo de conocer la importancia de la Reserva de la Biosfera del Triunfo (REBITRI)como zona de recarga hídrica, se estimó el balance hídrico de la cuenca Pijijiapan ya que la parte
alta de la misma se ubica dentro del polígono de la reserva. Se estimó una precipitación de 653,8
millones de m
3
anuales, de la cual el 12 % escurre, el 64 % se evapotranspira y el 24 % se
infiltra. El volumen de recarga hídrica neta potencial es 2,6 veces mayor dentro de la zona d e la
REBITRI que fuera de ella. Los resultados resaltan la importancia que tiene la REBITRI como
zona de recarga hídrica y regulación de la erosión y riesgos de inundación en la parte baja de la
cuenca.
