Abstract
Cuba posee asentamientos poblacionales donde a vecesno hay electricidad y existe escasez de agua. Este trabajo
aborda tendencias mundiales recientes de aplicación de
energías alternativas, basadas en las energías solar
térmica y fotovoltaica y en el empleo de la energia eólica,
además de los atrapanieblas en las zonas montañosas. Se
plasman criterios técnicos necesarios para la selección
del tipo de instalación conveniente. Todos estos sistemas
no tradicionales se utilizan para el suministro de agua en
zonas de difícil acceso en varios países como una solución
para garantizar esa necesidad vital del ser humano y sin
afectar el medio ambiente.
