Un lago misterioso en México
Abstract
El Lago de Tequesquitengo (Morelos, México) en el sigloXIX tenía un nivel de agua alrededor de 20 metros por debajo
del actual y entre 1820-1865 el nivel subió y dejó sumergido
el pueblo que había en sus orillas. El autor abordó, en el
Instituto Mexicano de Tecnología del Agua (IMTA), mediante
modelación matemática, el estudio de la interacción entre
el lago y el acuífero subyacente. Se construyó un escenario
semejante a las condiciones naturales de esa época y se probaron
las variantes que supuestamente explicaban el fenómeno,
obteniéndose las conclusiones pertinentes. Posteriormente,
se analizó una nueva variante que se relaciona con
una posible recarga natural accidental desde el acuífero
profundo.
