Determination of the sanitary protection zone, comparison of the NC1192:2017 and WhAEM methods, case study of supply sources in San Jose de la Lajas.

In Cuba the National Office of Normalization established a calculation procedure for the delimitation of the sanitary protection areas (ZPS), effective in the NC 1192: 2017, besides this procedure mathematical models that are applied in the entire world exist like it is the case of the mathematical pattern using the program WhAEM. These two methods were applied in four of the sources of supply of San José de las Lajas. Throwing as a result that the two methods present favorable results with a relationship among the two methods of 99% of precision, for what is justified the use of the program WhAEM, in the areas where it is not had all the data necessary hydrogeological for the use of the NC 1192: 2017. That which guarantees that all the supply wells have the determination of ZPS.
