El agua en Cuba: un desafío a la sostenibilidad
Abstract
Los recursos hídricos disponibles en Cuba son limitados y están heterogéneamente. distribuidos La media nacional de 1 220 m3 de agua por persona de agua por persona al año sitúa al país en un nivel de estrés hídrico moderado.Diversos son los problemas elacionados con la gestión sostenible del agua en Cuba: el bajo volumen de agua disponible por habitante al año, el bajo índice de reposición anual de los recursos hídricos con el 13,7 %, la baja eficiencia en el uso del agua y las pérdidas en las redes de distribución y consumo, entre otros. En consecuencia, el agua constituye para Cuba el principal desafío ambiental para garantizar su sostenibilidad en el desarrollo, así como su seguridad ambiental y alimentaria.El cambio climático agudiza este reto. Se propone una hoja de ruta para la gestión sostenible de los recursos hídricos en Cuba
