Clasificación de tormentas tropicales según lluvias asociadas: (1) estado del arte
Abstract
La alta frecuencia con que Cuba es azotada por tormentas tropicales ha llevado a que la población cubana siga las informaciones que emite el departamento de pronósticos del Instituto de Meteorología junto con las orientaciones del Estado Mayor Nacional de la Defensa Civil, con el fin de planificar las medidas de protección que permitan mitigar los desastres. Dichas informaciones se refieren básicamente a la intensidad de los vientos, pero acerca de las lluvias y sus consecuentes inundaciones la información es muy pobre. Los autores del presente trabajo presentan, en su primera parte, una apretada síntesis de la situación que tiene el estado del arte sobre este importante tema.
