Aprovechamiento responsable del recurso hídrico fluvial

Abstract

El Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales (IDEAM) en Colombia, ha realizado una serie de estudios sobre el recurso hídrico que, articulados con la legislación y disposiciones vigentes (Ley 99 de 1993), permiten enfrentar situaciones de conflictos por uso y criticidad ambiental relacionadas con este recurso. Muchas de las fuentes superficiales colombianas presentan contaminación y manejo inadecuado; tal es el caso de la subcuenca del río Cuja (cerca del municipio de Fusagasugá) que hace parte de la cuenca media del río Sumapaz, cercana al páramo del mismo nombre. Adicionalmente, está la lucha por el agua de este páramo. En este artículo, desde una perspectiva holística, se plantean las posibilidades o estrategias que permiten utilizar de forma racional el recurso hídrico, en principio en una zona piloto del río Cuja.
